So here they are – the second sketch of sketches (a little late, thanks to a few late nights getting home this week because of the lovely tube strike!)
I feel like they have a bit of a Celine/The Row silhouette about them, which I really love. It’s funny – over the years I’ve designed a lot for myself (setting myself design projects because I’m a super conscientious fashion nerd like that), and I’ve noticed how my designs have become more and more ‘covered up’. I don’t really know whether it’s a case of just getting older and not wanting to be so flashy, or whether it’s an overall trend towards more modesty which everyone (including myself) has caught on to. I would imagine it’s probably a bit of both – although let’s be honest, there is nothing more comfortable (and chic) than some oversized tailoring and knitwear (as much as someone like Miley Cyrus would inevitably beg to differ). Have you noticed the same in your dressing? I would love to know if I’m not the only one!
So next, I’m going to work on some textile designs to go along with these. What do you think? Are you enjoying these new posts? Let me know in the comments!
